Attempt two at a fanny pack / sling, this time with the intent of also making it useful for cycling. Stephen Jones’ Bag Buff has a great bar bag pattern called the Cycle Psycho which I based this off.

I almost bought the pattern (sorry Stephen), but figured my last attempt was close enough that I could just be more thorough and pay more attention to my seam allowances. I sketched up a rough shape, measured my bars for sizing, and watched a few more YouTube videos on sewing boxed corners.

This came out much much better than the last bag and I use it all the time.

Velcro straps attach it to the handlebars. The velcro is plenty strong and I haven't had any issues, but I wish I had sewn the velcro to webbing so it will last longer. The velcro tape isn't really meant for bearing weight.
